Halogen incandescent GLS bulbs are a classic, pear-shaped household light bulb that use a halogen gas cycle to deliver brighter light, better energy savings, and a longer lifespan than standard incandescent bulbs.

They use a tungsten filament inside a quartz or hard glass envelope filled with halogen gas such as iodine or bromine. This design recycles evaporated tungsten back onto the filament, making them brighter, whiter, and longer-lasting than standard incandescent bulbs

Approximately 80% of the energy they consume is converted into heat rather than light, making them significantly less energy-efficient than LED or CFL bulbs.
